Friendship Meals

If you would like to receive meals, call 785-587-2462, M-F, 8am-1pm.

On-site and home delivered meals for seniors are provided at the Manhattan Senior Center by the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging.

The Friendship Meals Program provides a complete daily healthy lunch for assessed clients age 60 years and older.  Most meals consist of a hot entree (meat, vegetable, and starch item), plus milk, a slice of bread, and dessert.  On occasion, a chef's salad replaces the hot meal.

Suggested donation per meal is $4.00 for persons who have been assessed; however, each client is asked to pay whatever they can reasonably afford.  The full price for a meal for someone who have not been assessed is $7.00.

The meals program is always in need of volunteer drivers to deliver meals.

For more information about the meals program or to volunteer to deliver meals, please call 785-587-2462 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Donations

The Friendship Meals Program accepts donations for the help of feeding seniors and covering administration. 16$ a month will support a senior. Any money on top of base operating costs will go towards paying the workers of our Friendship Meal Program. Approximately 150 people are delivered to daily, so every dollar helps! Donations to Friendship Meals are tax deductible.
